Jhaltola houses The MM Retreat – a collection of suites and cottages in a 1000 acres of peace and solitude. It is the labour of love of host owners and their daughter. They work with an ever smiling bunch of simple Pahari folks to make your holiday a lifetime memory.

MM is an Offbeat Destination in Kumaon (near Chaukori and Patal Bhuvaneshwar). It has a unique location and stunning Himalayan views. Thousands of acres of untouched forests surround it and the nearest neighbour is at least a kilometer away.

The property offers sights of the mighty Himalayas (the whole Nanda Devi Range and the Panchachuli Peaks) from each and every cottages of the property. The property has a 360 degree view of the Himalayan range.

Rooms:

MM has different types of suites and cottages to serve varying needs of families. All the rooms are well designed and has all the amenities required for guest comfort.

RoseVilla Suite – Four Rosevilla Suites are at the sunniest part of the retreat. They have a large bedroom with sit in space and attached bath, a cabin with bunk beds for kids, and a shared garden outside. They would suit you perfectly if you are a couple or a couple with kids.

If you are travelling with family friends or extended family you can take multiple suites to enjoy the privacy of your room while sharing common spaces outside. The suites overlook a spacious garden, and the Himalayas. These are also the most easily accessible accommodation option for senior citizens.

The Oak Suites – They have 2 Oak suites. There Duplexs, are the latest addition to accommodation at MM. They are super spacious and perfect for a family of four. The highlights are an attic room that kids love, bay window seats to relax indoors, and a wooden deck to enjoy the scenery all around. The suites are at the highest point of the retreat and have a lovely vista.

Rosebank Cottage – Rosebank Cottage is a one of kind independent cottage at MM. It is a favourite amongst the regulars. It has a quirky round design, four poster bed, mezzanine floor with twin beds and ample space for a small family. You would love it if you like quirky and quaint.

Large family cottages – They have 2 such family cottages. These family cottages are best for extended families travelling together. It has two bedrooms – each with an attached bath, a spacious living room and space for extra beds. It also a lovely deck outdoors, perfect for an evening hangout.

All the suites and cottages come with heaters and electric blankets to keep you warm and cosy. Bathrooms in all the suites and cottages are clean, spacious with running hot water.

Host Ambika is a great cook & the kitchen works on her instructions to ensure that the food is par excellence with that home style touch leaving you craving for more.

Do try the home made jams, preserves & pickles while in the dining area. They will try and accommodate your special request to make sure you don’t go dissatisfied.

By Air – Delhi airport is 470 kms from the property.

By Rail – Kathgoadam railway station is 195 kms from the property.

It is recommended to take a train from Delhi to Kathgoadm (multiple options available) and then drive to the property. One can break the journey at Almora if long journey is an issue.
